If your child has needs--whether special, gifted, or just different than the "norm"--and they are not being met via your public school, or even a private school, then homeschooling may be an option to consider. If public school is too crowded and there isn't enough time for him to really soak up the knowledge, or if she is very advanced and not being challenged enough, you can provide that for him or her. And you do NOT have to be a teacher to do it. Know the facts. Know your rights. Get the information applicable to your state. Make the best decisions you can before taking bigger steps.
